Our Focus –

  • Providing opportunities for groups who might struggle to access skateboarding
  • Creating communities to meet like-minded people and make friends
  • Supporting everyone in feeling comfortable skating in public spaces and facilities
  • Raising awareness within the skateboarding community of the difficulties some face, and what can be done to make skateboarding a safer and more inclusive activity
  • Providing a platform for the great things going on in the Brighton skate scene

Skate Together

Thursday Night’s Alright For Skating

Every Thursday at BYC

 

6:30 – 9pm

For girls, women and marginalised genders aged 13+

All abilities welcome

Skateboards and safety equipment provided

Entry price: £3.50 for ages 13-19 / £4.50 for age 20+

BYC’s Thursday night skate session has been running for over 10 years. Originally the park’s staple girls’ night, we would like to welcome in other marginalised genders.

Every session is staffed by experienced skate coaches. If you’re new to skating they’ll be happy to help get you rolling, or if you need advice or support learning anything then help is on hand. Skateboards and safety equipment is also available to use for free.

Queer Skate Night

Last Saturday of the Month at BYC

 

6:30 – 9pm

Ages 13+

Next session –

This session is for all members of the LGBTQ+ community to meet and skate together or try something new and join a new community. Started in 2023, we’ve already seen scores of new faces in the skatepark.

We’ll be periodically arranging meetups in different locations around Brighton & Hove, primarily for girls, women and LGBTQ+ skaters. These are to to give people chances to skate in public in a safe and supportive group.
